Mercy Chinwo Background

Mercy Nnenda Chinwo popularly known as Mercy Chinwo was born on September 5, 1990 into the family of five in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Mercy lost her father at a young age, and had to fend for herself and other siblings. As a result, she took her music ministry serious from the beginning.

Mercy Chinwo started from the tender age of 8 in the children’s choir  and then subsequently moved into the adult choir  from where she buld her vocal strength and became the music director of her local church.

Mercy Chinwo Career

With her serious moves towards the Music ministry Mercy Chinwo also lend her voice to gospel music ministers like Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Buchi, Chris Morgan and Preye Odede as a Backup singer for those awesome gospel music artists. Further more she went as a contestant in several Musical competitions such as the Nigeria Idol 2012 before she eventually energed as the winner in the season 2 of the Nigerian talent show and came to limelight.
In 2015, she released her debut single Testimony (2015) and subsequently Igwe (2016). On February 20, 2018, Mercy released her debut studio album The Cross: My Gaze. The 16-track contemporary gospel songs was released by EeZee Conceptz under Dixtrit Media. It featured guest appearances from Shady B, Fiokee, Chris Morgan, and Olaitan Odoko. Since then, Mercy has continued to release soul-lifting worship songs.
