Mercy Chinwo Background
Mercy Nnenda Chinwo popularly known as Mercy Chinwo was born on September 5, 1990, into a family of five in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Mercy lost her father at a young age and had to fend for herself and her other siblings. As a result, she took her music ministry seriously from the beginning.

Mercy Chinwo started from the tender age of 8 in the children’s choir and then subsequently moved into the adult choir from where she build her vocal strength and became the music director of her local church.

With her serious moves towards the Music ministry, Mercy Chinwo also lends her voice to gospel music ministers like Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Buchi, Chris Morgan, and Preye Odede as a Backup singer for those awesome gospel music artists. Furthermore, she went as a contestant in several Musical competitions such as the Nigeria Idol 2012 before she eventually emerged as the winner in season 2 of the Nigerian talent show and came to the limelight.
In 2015, she released her debut single Testimony (2015) and subsequently Igwe (2016). On February 20, 2018, Mercy released her debut studio album The Cross: My Gaze. The 16-track contemporary gospel songs were released by EeZee Conceptz under Dixtrit Media. It featured guest appearances from Shady B, Fiokee, Chris Morgan, and Olaitan Odoko. Since then, Mercy has continued to release soul-lifting worship songs. In the year 2020, she released another album titled Satisfied having more than 10 songs.
